Malaysian entrepreneurs want to stay "low profile" locally

I was talking to an entrepreneur who recently received a huge investment from a US VC-backed company, and his news was plastered on international news. But when I asked him to share his news to the local dailies, his response was "want to stay low profile locally." Is this mentality a problem when our local hero's are too shy to come out of their shell?

Nothing can be further from the truth. Fair if one choose to do so, but for many, any exposure are good exposure.

Penang-based rich media mobile ad creator startup MobileAds (previously known as RichMobileAds) has received an undisclosed strategic investment from Seattle-headquartered HasOffers. MobileAds CEO and founder Alvin Koay couldn’t share the exact figure but did say it is a bridge round to its series A.
