Temporary work permits work for between 3 months and 1 year. The Malaysian government's greatest concern when it comes to the ;floodgates' of foreign workers seems to be around unskilled labourers, which is very different from the type of people startups are looking to hire. People who have done or are currently pursuing a university degree would be a good criterion. 

Hiring quality people has really been a bottleneck in terms of our growth. It's not always that they have better options in MNCs -- there are also those interested in working in the startup space -- but a lot of people don't know what's out there and we don't know who's out there.
